Birthday Girl

Reese turned 5 today! We are so lucky to have Reese in our house. She is such a cuddly, loving girl. We gave her the option of having a birthday party at home or at Chuck-e-cheese this year, and she chose home because she wanted a pinata so bad. Her party was filled with candy and cookies and pizza, and all things sweet and bad for you...just like she likes it!

Here are a few things about Reese that make us love having her in our house.
~She loves to sing and make noise. (The singing is from us both, but just like her daddy she makes noises like clicking or tapping to a beat ALOT).
~She will wait to see what Abbi chooses and that is what she wants too.
~She still LOVES gum and lipgloss
~She's our vege girl.
~Reese loves our dog Molly and kisses her all the time.
~She can write her name and thinks she knows how to read. She's really creative, and tells fabulous stories. I could go on forever, but we love our little Reese B. She was our Thanksgiving present 5 years ago.

1st Snow

We had our first decent snow the other day, and you would have thought it was Christmas morning listening to the squeals and giggles from my girls.

Abbi was really excited that the snow was wet enough to make a really good snowman. When it started to melt, the eyes and nose and mouth fell out, and it looked like a skeleton snowman. (p.s. our yard is not weeds like it looks like. Our neighbors don't have a yard yet, and this pic is on the line almost of our yards.)

BYU field trip

Yesterday I took my girls to the planetarium at BYU. Abbi was really excited because I let her skip the first half of school to come with us. I didn't remember that I brought my camera until we were walking back to the car, but still we got a few cute fall pictures.
They are still so little so rolling down hills is an adventure. My stomach starts to churn a little just watching them!

Brynn decided to NOT cooperate so I only really got one picture that's not even good, but that's more than I was expecting with the type of day she was having!

2 1/2 Months

This should be after her blessing post, but oh well. I had to post a few pictures that I caught of Reagan kinda smiling. She is 2 1/2 months now and she is so cute. It's impossible to know, but I think she will have curly hair like Reese. the reason I think so is because her calics (don't know how to spell that) and the amount of hair she has looks exactly like Reese did at her age. We'll see though.

Halloween

Finally...

We did it. She is FINALLY potty trained!! I was afraid to potty train Brynn. Yep, I'll admit it. I wanted to potty train Brynn a few months ago at the beginning of summer, but I would shudder at the thought of getting up and down a million times, and taking her to the bathroom 50 times in a day being huge prego...SO i waited.

So it has been an ongoing question of me asking Brynn if she wants to go on the potty, with the same answer from her ALWAYS! No, I don't want to go on the potty. I would ask if she wanted to be a big girl? I will give you candy, ice cream, money, read to you, give you anything, but please will you go potty? Nope, she didn't care about anything, and she would run away screaming. (That's super reassuring that she is ready right?!) But one day I offered the right thing for our little Brynny. I asked if she wanted a party. For whatever reason she was into it. She wanted a party with a rainbow cake and balloons. I tossed ice cream into the mix just to keep her excited, and we started the potty training process.

Well, like I said I was afraid to try with her, and for good reason. The first few days were CRAZY!! She wet her pants so many times, and she lost her enthusiasm for it about 20 minutes into the process. So we had to keep reminding her of the ultimate goal in different ways to keep her motivated. There was lots and lots of screaming, "I don't want to be a big girl", and I almost threw in the towel a few times. Then, in true Brynn fashion, she decided she would do it. She would be potty trained, and she just was. Simple as that. On the 4th day it just clicked and she started telling us that she needed to go. She could hold it, and she didn't even need a pull-up at night. Now we have had a few accidents, but 99% of the time she's totally good, and I am so excited about it!

Side note. She is the only kid that Andy has been involved in helping to potty train, (During the day anyway. He was always gone at work), and I am so happy that he was there to help! He thought it was a crazy process, but seriously I don't know if I would have kept up with it had he not been there. She has a knack for needing to go right when I start nursing the baby, of coarse.
Every year we take the girls to the pumpkin patch. They have a little, kinda lame petting zoo area, a huge maze, a tiny maze, and this year they did something new. There was a big pit full of corn for the kids (and adults if they want) to jump and play in. I thought it was really cool. My girls did too. The corn smelled a little like bread, and the girls LOVED jumping around in it.

6 weeks old

Here's Reagan in her blessing dress. She is 6 weeks here, and we were so excited because she started smiling on her own the day before. she is the most smiley right after she has eaten, and will coo and squeak when anyone looks her way.

Reag has been an amazing baby! She has been sleeping through the night since she was about 3 weeks old, but even before that she would only wake up once or twice at the most during the night since she was born. I really don't know how we lucked out, but I am grateful for her every day.

I thought that a glaze donut would be the least messy donut to get for Brynn. Turns out it doesn't matter... she can make a mess out of ANY donut.
